The bearded dragon lives in the desert and semi-desert savannahs of central Australia. It has a diurnal lifestyle, both terrestrial and semi-arboreal. It often perches in shrubs or termite mounds, either to watch over its territory or to sleep.
It eats all kinds of invertebrates, insects, worms and arachnids, as well as a wide variety of leaves and flowers.
